“2020 has been a year to remember for all of us, both in the industry and out of it. And as tradition continues here at Megan Mechanical Services Ltd we have continued to take on the next generation of apprentices slightly later than we wanted but never the less both Billy & Thomas have been formally issued with permanent employment contract after the end of year performance review.
Billy Watkins is a 3rd generation member joining the business and both joined just prior to the outbreak of COVID and have taken to learning and implementing COVID procedures on sites as if it was normal working practices.
Both Billy & Thomas have in their 1st year proven that apprenticeships are the best route for entering the industry and for Megan Mechanical as a business. 2020 was the year to clearly demonstrate this, not only with their attitude to learning on line and making every effort to be at work every day. Both have a bright future and if 2020 is a standard to measure by, then 2021 looks to be same and we all hope even better.
Megan Mechanical see the next generation as the future of our longevity as a business while supporting the future of the industry at the same time. As there is a shortage of new entrants into the industry Megan Mechanical actively promote the apprentice route and are often taking on trainee’s who are part qualified assisting them in completing the qualifications. We work closely with local college(s) especially Southampton City College - https://www.southampton-city.ac.uk/apprenticeships/ as this is our prime learning centre.
