TEAM NEWS

2020 has been a challenging year for all of us, both in and out of the industry.
At Megan Mechanical, our tradition of taking on the next generation of apprentices is continuing, but slightly later than we would have wanted due to the circumstances. Nevertheless, Billy Watkins and Thomas Smith have been formally issued with their employment contracts after their end of year performance reviews. Well done to both of you!

Billy Watkins is the third generation of his family to join our business and continue a family tradition. Both Billy and Thomas joined prior to the Covid outbreak and therefore had to learn and implement all of the Covid procedures on site as well as all the normal working practices. This has proved challenging for them and indeed all of our employees.

They have not only demonstrated their commitment to both the Company and the industry by their attitude to learning on-line but also by making every effort to be at work every day, proving that apprenticeships are the way forward for both the industry and Megan Mechanical as a business. Their future looks bright if 2020 is the standard to measure by and hopefully 2021 will be even better.

Megan Mechanical see the next generation as the future of our longevity as a business, while supporting the future of the industry at the same time. As there is a shortage of new entrants into the industry, Megan Mechanical actively promote the apprentice route and are often taking on trainee’s who are part qualified, assisting them in completing their qualifications. We work closely with local college(s) especially Southampton City College - https://www.southampton- city.ac.uk/apprenticeships/ as this is our prime learning centre.
